When I’m done with the Basic Rider Class do I get my drivers license?

Yes, upon successful completion of the basic rider class, you will be given a form to take to the DMV where they will add the Motorcycle endorsement to your license.

What do I need to wear in class?
Please wear full fingered gloves, a long-sleeved shirt or jacket, pants, over the ankle footwear, and eye protection (glasses or sunglasses are fine.  If you have a helmet you may bring it, if not we have some available to borrow.

How does the class work?
Typically Friday night is spent in the classroom.  On Saturday and Sunday half the day is spent riding, the other half is in the classroom.  Occasionally this schedule changes according to weather.

What happens in bad weather?
Hey you’re a biker now, we ride in everything. Well, mostly everything.  In the colder early and late part of the season and in the heat of summer, we may adjust classroom and riding time to make riding the most comfortable possible.  If it’s raining, or there are snow flurries, we ride.  If there is a foot of snow on the ground, we’ll reschedule class as a last resort.

What if I have trouble reading the test?
We understand, simply tell your instructor and we’ll arrange to read the test to you.

What if I get sick and can’t attend on my scheduled weekend?
You will be allowed to reschedule one time due to illness.  Please call and let us know well in advance of the morning of class.   If you choose to skip the call, you will be charged for the class and will need to re- sign up and pay a new class fee if you wish to take the class.

What if I don’t pass?
The instructors do everything possible to help our students pass the class, however, occasionally a rider may be deemed a hazard to themselves or the other students.  If this happens, or a student simply doesn’t pass the required exercises.  The student will be allowed the option of retaking the class later in the season at half price. No refunds are given for incomplete or failed classes.

What if I oversleep on class morning?                                                                                                                          We get it, sometimes people oversleep, however, we reserve a spot in the class for you on your given date which mean we turned away somebody else to reserve your spot. Since the class is set up so that each exercise builds on the one before it, starting late isn’t on option.  Your options are to reserve another spot in another class for half price or forfeit your class entirely.  No refunds are given for oversleeping.
